Addictive electronic music!

The DI Story

Digitally Imported is a multi-channel internet radio service that focuses exclusively on Electronic Music. Today, our team of curators sift through petabytes of new releases and back catalogs to find only the best from each genre or style. But it wasn’t always like that.

1999
Ari Shohat started Digitally Imported while studying for a BA in Computer Science. A single Trance radio stream was broadcast from a computer in his Binghamton University dorm room. Despite humble beginnings, it was one of the first ever internet radio services

2004
Running on donated bandwidth and a passion for the music, Ari and company pushed DI into new musical styles and new business territory. A handful of unique channels and a growing customer base in the thousands.

2010
DI is awarded Best Global Radio Station at the International Dance Music Awards at Miami’s annual Winter Music Conference. What an honor to be recognized for the work we love to do.

Today
Many millions of registered listeners, umpteen channels covering every corner of Electronic Music, and it’s all still running out of Ari’s dorm room. jk.

The guide to electronic music.

Digitally Imported was started in 1999 by Ari Shohat with the launch of the initial Trance channel. It was powered by a 366MHz Celeron running Windows 98 on his home DSL line. What began as one man's hobby in New York grew within a decade to include a staff team across more than eight cities worldwide.

Today, DI has 110+ channels across multiple brands, 100,000+ regular listeners, and exclusive online distribution for many of the most popular internet radio shows.

We owe much of our success to our dedicated fans, and to the many talented individuals who give their time to keep our music alive and our channels growing.

Music by mood.

Let's talk about us...
People often listen to music according to the mood they want, whether to reinforce the state they are in or rather to change it. Musicovery has created a graphical interface to meet this need, the "mood pad": it displays two axes - dark / positive and calm / energetic - axes that are continuous and progressive, and offers an infinite range of moods; every song has a specific position on the mood pad.

When rolling over the mood pad, music samples are played, allowing the listener to intuitively find the mood and the music he wants and to launch the program from the desired position.

Turn your mood into music!

about stereomood
stereomood is a free emotional internet radio that suggests to me the music that best suits my mood and my daily activities. it's much more than an online radio, it's a tool to create playlists for every occasion, a tool to share my emotions through the music

a bit of history
the idea of stereomood was born in february 2008 in milan. giovanni, drained by the "apocalyptica" maurizio played in an exhaustingly loud volume, decided at any cost to provide him with an online tool to listen to, arrange and share the newest tracks from the best international music blogs.

thanks to the amazing effect of eleonora’s sweet and sour peppers – able to awaken even daniele’s brain, already 'retired' for the lethal doses of html and css bugs – a great new insight has droven us towards this first release. why don’t we arrange our mp3 files according to the people moods and activities?

How many times do we get up on a sleepy sunday morning with the desire to play great and lively songs on the spot, without wasting a lot of time looking for the right cd or mp3 file among all the others and losing our temper...? how many times would we love to tidy up our room and dust at the place of music without smoking so many cigarettes while waiting for the right song to be on?

after a difficult year of thinking, fighting and developing things, with a friendship that has been tested, we are proud to launch our beta version!some features are still missing (eh! it's a draft!), but we hope stereomood is going to help you experience music in new, exciting and emotional way.

Free Music!

What exactly is a ‘blip’?
A blip is a combination of 1) a song and 2) a short message that accompanies it. The way you create a blip is to first search for a song that you want to hear (or a song that you want your listeners to hear), then add a short message (under 150 characters), finally you submit it.

Submitting a blip is also referred to as “blipping”, so from here on out, when you read “he blipped my favorite track” it means “he submitted a blip that had my favorite song attached”.

Listen to Streaming Music Online

What is Presto.fm?
Presto.fm is a free online music streaming and discovery service with the goal of connecting you to music perfectly matched to your tastes. We make it easy to explore a whole universe of music to find new bands and artists to enjoy.

Presto is developed by a couple of guys who just love music. We wanted to make a tool that could take the hard work out of finding new music and artists. A tool easy enough for our parents to use and enjoy - a music application that just works.

We're based in Australia and love listening to both niche and local artists, so that usually means even when international music services let us listen they don't have the music that we want to hear. We needed a tool that could deliver music from the biggest artists on the planet to the local garage band down the road - a tool to help listeners easily discover new artists and help musicians reach a world of new audiences.

We hope you enjoy the ride.
Team Presto
